I am a Professor of Aeronautics & Astronautics and an Adjunct Professor of Mathematics and Electrical & Computer Engineering at the University of Washington. I received my Ph.D. from USC in 1996, was a member of the Guidance, Navigation, and Analysis group at Jet Propulsion Laboratory from 1996-2000 and then an Assistant Professor of Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics at the University of Minnesota from 2000-2002. My research group is the Robotics, Aerospace, and Information Networks (RAIN) Laboratory; I am the Executive Director of the Joint Center for Aerospace Technology Innovation (JCATI) and a member of the WA State Academy of Sciences. My research interests are distributed and networked aerospace systems, autonomy, and control theory and learning.

Mar 1, 2024 | Abhi’s paper ‘‘Customized Real-Time First-Order Methods for Onboard Dual Quaternion-based 6-DoF Powered-Descent Guidance’’ wins the AIAA 2023 best paper award! Shahriar’s paper on data-driven filtering is accepted to NeuroIPS 2023 Shahriar started new position at Harvard. Newsha passed her Ph.D. general exam. Congrats! |
